The Cheryl Cole Foundation
Cheryl Cole has launched her own charitable foundation with
The Prince’s Trust following a meeting with The Trust’s President,
HRH The Prince of Wales.
The Cheryl Cole Foundation will provide vital funds for
The Trust in the North East, helping disadvantaged young
people from Cheryl’s own region.
Cheryl said:
Too many young people grow up thinking no-one
cares and don’t believe they can make anything of themselves. They
have so much potential – but can go off the rails without the right
care and support. I want my Foundation to help them realise their
potential and get their lives on track.
I have always been a great admirer of the work The Prince’s Trust
does with disadvantaged young people across the UK. It’s the
perfect charity for my Foundation to support.
Martina
Milburn, chief executive of The Prince’s Trust said: “Cheryl is
extremely passionate about young people. We’re really excited about
working on this new Foundation with her.
“The recent recession has made the work of The Prince’s Trust
more relevant than ever, with the number of unemployed young people
currently at a record high.
“Support for the Cheryl Cole Foundation and The Prince’s Trust
will help disadvantaged and unemployed young people get their lives
on track at this difficult time.”
Kristina Kyriacou, director of the Cheryl Cole Foundation,
added: “When Cheryl asked me to help set up her new Foundation, it
became clear that The Prince’s Trust was the best partner.
“Not only does The Trust already do a huge amount in the North
East – the charity is helping exactly the young people Cheryl wants
her Foundation to support.”
About the Cheryl Cole Foundation
In its first year, the Cheryl Cole FoundationFoundation
aims to help disadvantaged young people in the North East of
England through a grant to The Prince’s Trust.
In time, the Foundation aims to help a number of different
causes and future grants are likely to support a range of
organisations working in the region.
