Greenbelt Festival 2009
During the August
Bank Holiday weekend, The Prince’s Trust made its debut appearance
at the Greenbelt Festival.
Located on Cheltenham Racecourse, the festival plays host to a
plethora of speakers and musical acts, focused on the theme of
'faith, arts and justice'. The festival attracts a crowd of
approximately 20,000 every year and The Trust was welcomed very
warmly as a newcomer.
Events like
Greenbelt help us to reach out to a new audience. Those who visited
us expressed an interest in a variety of aspects of our work, from
volunteering as mentors to donating.
Visitors participated in a collective 'hand-print' petition to
promote positivity around young people, and hundreds of
festival-goers entered our competition to win an iPod
Touch. The exhibition stand was always busy and the team at
The Trust very much enjoyed meeting everyone.
As a charity we are keen to raise awareness of our work amongst
the wider community as much as possible, so that we can continue to
reach the 40,000 young people that we do every year. Greenbelt
provided the perfect forum to do this.
Thank you to everyone that visited the stand, and we hope to see
you again next year.
