Team visits HMS Severn

The Swansea Team had the rare opportunity of combining their Team Programme with a visit to HMS Severn.

HMS Severn, one of many ships in the Royal Navy’s Fishery Protection Squadron, was alongside in Newport for a few days earlier this month and invited the Swansea Team aboard.

The young people had a tour of the whole ship, including the living quarters, the Ship’s own gym and the canteen where they were served a typical crew lunch.

They met some of the crew and some were rather surprised that the Captain of the ship was a young lady.

HMS Severn is looking forward to welcoming aboard another Team Programme when it is alongside in Newcastle in the near future.
