Armed Forces Careers Office gets on board with Leicester
Teams
For the last few years Leicester’s Army
Recruiting Officers have played a part in the Prince’s Trust Team
programmes delivered by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service.
"The recruiters, mainly from the
9th/12th Lancers, have provided valuable help to Team Leaders
during all aspects of the programme. The main part for which we are
truly grateful is the support during week two, the team building
residential. We have been delighted to have had the opportunity for
these recruiters to take part in a staff role during the
residential to assist the Team Leader for the whole week. Sometimes
the recruiters have taken their own leave to be able to join us for
this week, but thankfully in recent times leave has not had to be
taken due to the important work the recruiters are taking part in
and partnership working.

"The Armed Forces are well known about in our society,
especially those that Prince’s Trust work with so, as a Team
Leader, I feel that the relationship that we have with Leicester
AFCO is an important one for me to do the best by my young people
and their futures. To enable them to ask questions that they have
seen from the media is allowing them to broaden their knowledge and
to learn new things. The young people that have worked with these
recruiters, initially without having any intention to join the
Armed Forces, have learnt about different careers and prospects the
Army can bring to them. In some cases, young people have gone on to
applying for the Armed Forces.
"I hope be working with the all personnel from the Armed
Forces Careers for a long time to come." - Helen Moore, Team
Leader
