Beverley Raceday Experience
A group of Ten students from the Sir
Henry Cooper School in Kingston-upon-Hull, were invited
to attend a raceday by Beverley Racecourse as part
of The Trust's partnerhsip with the British Horseracing
Authority.
For the students on the xl programme at Sir Henry Cooper School
the day was a fantastic opportunity to find out more about the
employment opportunities that surround such a large event.
The group were given an introduction
from Racecourse Chief Executive, Sally Iggulden as well as getting
to meet people who worked in various roles around the racecourse.
The students were also given the opportunity to walk
the track with the Clerk of the Course, visit the Stable Yard,
accompany the Starter of the race to his position and visit the
Weighing Room, gaining an exclusive behind the scenes look
at the world of racing.
We are delighted that racing has become a
partner of The Prince’s Trust. We have seen first-hand how sport
can change young lives, helping to develop key workplace skills
such as confidence, motivation, teamwork and discipline. Through
our partners such as the British Horseracing Authority, we can
continue to help thousands of young people through sport.
