Star-studded charity drive raises vital
funds
Slaley Hall in Northumberland hosted the
'Prince's Trust Benfield Golf Day' to raise funds for young people
across the North East.
Football legend Alan Shearer, Olympic Gold Medallist Jonathan
Edwards, and a host of other celebrities tee’d off the annual
‘Prince’s Trust Benfield Golf Day’ (September 30) in support of
disadvantaged youngsters across the North East.
The star-studded event, held at Slaley
Hall, is one of the most important regional fundraisers in the
youth charity’s calendar and is generously sponsored by The
Benfield Motor Group.
Celebrities attending the prestigious event
included; England and Durham Cricketer Steve Harmsion; TV Celebrity
Ralph Little; Newcastle United legends Rob Lee and John Beresford;
Durham CCC Cricketers Phil Mustard, Graham Onions and Neil
Killeen; England and Yorkshire Cricketer Jonny Bairstow; and North
East Football legend Paul Bracewell; who all helped to raise
awareness about the youth charity’s valuable work.
Over 200 guests from businesses around the UK
enjoyed full access to Slayley Hall’s 1000 acres of Northumberland
moorland and forest, a champagne reception and trophy
presentation.
Money raised on the day will go towards
running The Prince’s Trust’s programmes in the North East, giving
disadvantaged young people the qualifications and experience to
help them get a job.
I’m delighted to support the ‘Prince’s Trust
Benfield Golf Day.' Young people are the future of the North East
and it is vital we give them the support they need to reach their
potential. I’ve been a supporter of the Prince’s Trust for a long
time and I have seen the great work they are doing in the region.
It’s fantastic to see so many companies like Benfield and their
customers supporting such worthy causes at the same time as
enjoying a round of golf.

David Beavis Regional Director for The
Prince’s Trust said “With rising levels of youth unemployment, our
work supporting disadvantaged young people is now more important
