Top artists help raise funds for The Prince’s
Trust
More than 35 top artists have helped raise
£74,000 for The Trust at Bath's 'Evening of Art' auction.
Two watercolour illustrations from Wallace and Gromit
creator Nick Park went up for auction at Bristols ‘Evening of Art’,
alongside work from household names such as Sir Peter Blake, Rob
Ryan, Quentin Blake and Ken Howard. Some of the pieces were created
especially for the event, which was hosted by The Prince’s
Trust.
The auction took place at the Assembly Rooms in Bath and was
conducted by Dreweatts Bloomsbury Auctions and
www.the-saleroom.com.
All of the proceeds from the auction will go directly towards
supporting disadvantaged young people through Prince’s Trust
schemes, giving them the skills and confidence to find a job.
Michelle Moran, Head of Fundraising for The Prince’s Trust in
the South West, said:
We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the
support we have received from prestigious artists across the UK to
make our first art auction a success.
She added: “The money raised at the auction will help
change thousands of young lives at a time when young people need
our support more than ever.”
Prince’s Trust supporters Coutts & Co, Smith &
Williamson, Withy King, Reside Bath and Knight Frank all sponsored
the auction, ensuring that proceeds from the auction go directly to
help young people.
