The Captain’s Run - Millennium Stadium
On the 11th March, the Welsh xl clubs taking
part in RBS 6 Nations with The Prince’s Trust were invited to the
Millennium Stadium to watch The Captain’s Run, the final training
session of the RBS 6 Nations for the Welsh Rugby team.
Organised by the WRU, the day involved; a
Millennium Stadium tour, a question and answer session with Wales
rugby legend Garin Jenkins, front row seats during The Captain’s
Run and the opportunity to meet the players pitch side
afterwards.
The students had a fantastic day at the
Millennium Stadium, and meeting some of their rugby heroes was the
highlight. They all left with great memories, lots of autographs
and a positive feeling from the inspiring message of Garin Jenkins.
A big thank you to all who made the day so memorable

The Captain’s Run is always an extraordinary
experience for the young people. Being given this amazing
opportunity is a fantastic way to celebrate their achievements at
the end of the initiative.”

RBS 6 Nations with The Prince's Trust offers xl club members an
introduction to the game of rugby through multiple tag rugby
sessions, access to educational materials and coaching on nutrition
and healthy lifestyles. The initiative targets 14 to 16 year olds
who are struggling at school and harnesses the powerful appeal of
rugby to retain young people in school, while using the game’s
team-based ethics to help the young people build their confidence
and develop new skills.
Since 2004 The Prince’s Trust and RBS have
helped over 1,000 disadvantaged young people through the RBS 6
Nations
initiative.
