Dee Set Million Makers team host a fantastic 007 themed
ball
007 ball raises over £8,000 for young people
in Stoke.
Stoke-on-Trent logistics firm Dee Set, who
are participating in Million Makers, raised an estimated £8,000 at
a James Bond themed ball last month.
The team, headed by Lee Horton, have worked
very hard since the competition launch in June and brought together
all their staff and suppliers to raise money for young people in
Staffordshire. The evening included stand up comedy, a
casino, an auction and raffle. Over 200 people from across
North Staffordshire attended the ball, raising awareness of the
plight of unemployed young people in Stoke which now numbers over
2,500 18-24 year olds.
Jamie Webb, Head of Fundraising for The
Prince’s Trust addressed the guests at the ball and said;
There are 2,500 over 18 year olds out of work
in Stoke and with every day each one loses their confidence and
motivation – making it much harder to get back into the job market.
But despite the economic conditions, companies such as Dee Set are
continuing to invest in local young people so we can give everyone
a second chance. We are delighted with all the hard work which the
team has shown taking part in Million Makers. They have pulled off
a great event!
Dee Set are long standing supporters of The
Prince’s Trust and have sponsored the Team and Enterprise
programmes in recent years. Last year, they recruited 7 young
people from Team programme with two of those recruited attending
the dinner. Carole Andrews of Dee Set was delighted with the work
of the Dee Set Million Makers team, saying:
“We were thrilled with the success of the
Million Makers 007 ball. The team from our Stoke office had worked
extremely hard in the lead up to the event, paying great attention
to detail which made sure the ball was a hit! Dee Set are proud to
support The Prince’s Trust on a variety of levels and this event
was no exception.”
Million Makers is a corporate enterprise
competition. Over 80 companies nationwide are taking part this year
which we hope will raise £1million – this is the amount of money
which The Trust needs every week to invest in young people.
The next Million Makers competition starts
in February. Contact Amy Moore or on 0121
