Grants in the South West

Read below to find out what grants are available in your region.

Young people can apply if:

  • aged 14–16 and not expecting to achieve five GCSEs grades A-C
  • aged 16–25 and not in education, training or are working less than 16 hours a week.

 

Our priority is to help young people who are:

  • educational underachievers
  • offenders and ex-offenders
  • unemployed
  • in or leaving care

 

Development Awards

 

Funding available across the South West and Jersey for young people who need support with course fees, equipment, work clothing, travel, work experience  etc…

There is specific funding available if you:

  • need help with getting into farming or agriculture training – course fees, equipment etc…
  • are part of a youth project doing the ‘Community Space Challenge’
  • are involved in a Kickz football project
  • are an asylum seeker, refugee or from black and minority ethnic groups.*

*Funding has been donated by the Islamic Development Bank and Department of Communities and Local Government

 

*We cannot fund driving lessons or anything related to car maintenance.  We also can't fund anything associated to living costs or university costs.

Community Cash Awards

 

Funding available across the region for young people with any ideas for a project to help the local community.

 

Specific funding also available for:

  • projects using football to help the community
  • young people (aged 14-17) who are part of a youth project doing the ‘Community Space Challenge’
  • young people who are involved in a Kickz football project
  • are an asylum seeker, refugee or from black and minority ethnic groups. Funding has been donated by the Islamic Development Bank and Department of Communities and Local Government
  • projects promoting and tackling issues around anti- gun, knife and gang violence.

Development Awards are grants to help you get into education, training or employment.

Community Cash Awards are grants to help you set up a project that will benefit your community.

The Jason Kanabus Fund helps young people get established in farming

This includes:

  • growing of crops or fruit
  • rearing of livestock
  • maintenance of farmland
  • activities associated with or supporting farming
