QuestGates' inspirational Himalaya challenge success
Two intrepid adventurers from ILG member
QuestGates, beat three other teams in The Prince's Trust
Action Insurance Challenge.
Andrew Davis, corporate claims handler, and Aaron
McMullen, from the motor special investigations unit, cycled,
trekked and rode the rapids to victory in the challenge. They
engaged in some inspirational fundraising along the
way, raising over £11,000 for disadvantaged young people all
over the UK. They said:
QuestGates values it membership of the
Insurance Leadership Group and our Board of Directors backed us
from day one.
QuestGates organised three simultaneous golf days
in support of Andrew and Aaron’s fundraising for the challenge,
raising over £7,000 in a day through a team entry package, charity
auction and hole sponsorship from local businesses. Sponsors and
prize donors received acknowledgement on the day and in the result
notification, while prizes were awarded to top teams, longest drive
and nearest the pin.
Aaron and Andrew have
challenged themselves physically and emotionally for this
worthwhile cause. To raise in excess of £11,000 really is a
fantastic result and we are well aware that this contribution will
be put to good use by the Prince’s Trust. I would like to thank our
clients, suppliers and colleagues alike for their support -
Alistair Steward, Director at QuestGates.
Individually, Andrew and Aaron also undertook some creative
fundraising. Thinking about their social circles in and out of
work, they held bake sales, car boot sales, a Christmas tree
recycling scheme, a comedy evening with Ricky Tomlinson, a Beer and
Skittles night and collections outside supermarkets.
The whole team at QuestGates were united in this
challenge, showing their strong support of Andrew and Aaron through
the Golf Days and encouragement of individual fundraising. This
undoubtedly spurred the pair on to win the challenge, as the
company had been part of this exciting experience from the
beginning. Exactly what Prince’s Trust challenges are all
about.
