Fundraise
By raising funds to support our work, you can
have a positive influence on the lives of young people facing
considerable barriers in life. And you can develop your own
personal skills at the same time.
Raising money for The Trust:
- motivates and inspires others
- fosters a team spirit and shared sense of achievement
- encourages active involvement in the community
- creates new challenges and chances to achieve goals
You can fundraise on your own, in a team or at work with
colleagues. We have a dedicated fundraising team who will be happy
to provide you with all the help, support and materials you need to
make your fundraising event a success.

One-off fundraising events
- Brainstorm ideas with friends or work colleagues and consider
the costs, time and resources available.
- Call The Prince's Trust Fundraising Team for fundraising ideas,
help and support
- Check out what other events are taking place in your area, so
you don't face unnecessary competition.
- Send a press release to your local media to publicise the event
or to promote it's success.
- Spread the word about what you are doing and attract as many
people as possible to take part
- Get feedback on what worked, what didn't and what can be
learned for next time.
- Ensure that all the money due in has been received and banked
as soon as possible.
- Send letters of thanks to all those who helped.
Fundraising campaigns
- Choose one person to be the Fundraising Champion in your
organisation. Their role is to co-ordinate all activities and be
both your internal and external point of contact.
- Arrange regular meetings for all those involved and delegate
responsibilities, i.e. publicity, selling tickets etc
- Designate a certain day each month or a week in the year to run
fundraising events
- Add a fundraising element to an existing activity, for example
a regular social event or internal team meeting.
- Use your business contacts to your advantage for raffle and
auction prizes.
- Communicate what you are doing to the rest of the company. Put
posters on your staff noticeboard or write an article for your
in-house magazine to keep people involved and informed.
- Ask your employer to match pound-for-pound what you raise.
