Opening doors for Lauren
The partnership between The Prince's Trust and
Premium Credit has opened doors for Lauren Stott, a young person
who has now secured a permanent position with the company.
While taking part in The Prince's Trust Team
Programme, Lauren wanted to explore a work placement in the
insurance industry. She applied through the Just the Job programme
and was accepted onto a placement with Premium Credit.
The company created a work experience schedule for
Lauren which included a combination of on the job
experience, mentoring and career guidance, leaving flexibility for
Lauren to decide which teams she wanted to revisit.
Lauren spent two weeks in Premium Credit’s Epsom office
providing her with exposure to departments such as the Executive
Team, Marketing, Human Resources, Loan Administration and many
others, enabling Lauren to make a more informed decision about her
career future.
Lauren impressed the management team so much
with her work ethic and inquisitive mind that she ended up securing
herself a permanent position in the busy contact centre – the shop
window to Premium Credit’s business.
The Just the Job initiative demonstrates our
commitment to helping young people build their skills, confidence
and experience in the workplace. We were really impressed with
Lauren's attitude and desire to learn and are delighted that she
has now joined us. She is a great example of what can be achieved
through our partnership with The Prince's Trust.
Simon Moran, Chief
Marketing Officer, Premium Credit
I would recommend anybody to carry out their
two week work placement with Premium Credit, whether you have an
idea of what your future may have in store for you or not. The
company looks after their employees well and is always happy to
give feedback when you ask for it. Quite a few doors were opened
for me and I’m sure that Premium Credit will be successful in
opening doors for many other young people.
Lauren Stott, former Team
participant
Thank you to Premium Credit for offering a placement through the
Just the Job programme. We are very grateful for the opportunity
they are providing to disadvantaged young people in their local
community.
