DHL UK
The DHL UK Foundation has pledged to make a
leading commitment to youth unemployment
Changing Young Lives
Together we will be running an incredible nine Get into
Logistics courses across the UK over the next two years, giving
more than one hundred young people the vital skills and
opportunities they need to move forward in their lives.
This builds on the DHL UK Foundation’s support to date: they
have already helped 64 young people into education, jobs and
training, and DHL has offered a fantastic 41 young people jobs.
But it’s the individual stories behind the numbers that are
truly inspirational:
I came on Get into Logistics to learn more
about working in logistics, I have had a varied working life but
have found myself in a bit of a rut over the past few months. I
want to thank DHL for their time, and allowing me into their
working day. They have given me an opportunity to turn my life in a
direction I can be proud of.
- David Butler, Get
into Logistics, Bedford
When I used to open my mouth, all that came out
was mashed potato. I couldn’t ring a taxi without stuttering. After
a year working in customer services, I am more self-confident – I
can speak to anyone on the phone and in front of a crowd.

Leading the Way
What’s more, DHL is now working with The Trust to bring together
other organisations in the Transport and Logistics sector. This
will help us to create even more future job opportunities for
disadvantaged young people across the industry. We are thrilled
that DHL have set the benchmark.
Sharon Davies, Corporate Affairs Director, DHL UK and Ireland
and DHL UK Foundation Trustee says:
The DHL UK Foundation exists to help young
people reach their full potential. We are working with The Prince's
Trust to give young people the skills and experience they need to
get jobs. Disadvantaged young people need our help now more than
ever and we are delighted to have recently put plans in place to
provide even more young people with the opportunities that they
desperately need.
