The Palace to Palace bike ride
comes to Warwick
The
Prince’s Trust is bringing its most popular mass participation
fundraising event, Palace to Palace, to the West Midlands,
supported by Allianz, on Sunday 20th May 2012.
The ride begins in the awe-inspiring grounds
of 1000 year-old Warwick Castle and will take you by Kenilworth
Castle, one of the most impressive and important ruins in England
and through the beautiful old villages of the Warwickshire
countryside.
We’re thrilled to
announce that three of our Trust
Ambassadors will be taking part this year. Former England
rugby captain and manager, Martin
Johnson, along with former rugby international player
Leon Lloyd and ex-England footballer Dion
Dublin.
After 45 miles the event will finish on
the Pageant Field at Warwick Castle where you’ll
celebrate your fabulous achievement at our ‘End Village’
with refreshments and your Palace to Palace medal.
You can even make a day of it with your
friends and family as Warwick Castle have kindly offered a hugely
reduced price of £10 for adults and £5 for children/seniors for
basic entrance to the Castle. They can then be there and enjoy all
the entertainment that the Castle has to offer and cheer you across
the finish line.
All money raised from the event will help
change disadvantaged young lives in the West Midlands.
Up to 1,000 cyclists will be taking part in
Palace to Palace, which is not a race and is aimed at cyclists over
the age of 16 and of all abilities who want to take part in a
challenging but fun event where they get to cycle through
prestigious locations.
Registration is £35 per person and we encourage
people to sign up as individuals or in teams, and commit to raising
£45 in sponsorship for The Prince's Trust - that's
£1 per mile. The top fundraiser will receive a
£100 voucher kindly donated by Evans Cycles.
