"Owens Got Talent" raises funds for The Trust
Dame Alice Owens school in Potters Bar raise
funds for The Prince's Trust
Natasha Kafka in Year 11 was the first student to get a school
talent show off the ground three years ago. She is the main
organiser of 'Owens Got Talent'. Participants were auditioned and
took part in the show itself if they got through.
A panel made up of senior pupils and staff decided on who passed
the audition and judged and gave feedback to all contestants on the
night. The compeer was someone well-known to the students. There
was no cost to enter. Show Tickets were sold at £4.00 and each
member of the audience had one vote. Refreshments were available on
the night. There was a trophy for the winner. The profit is sent to
a different charity each year, and in this year on the 8th February
Natasha decided to support The Prince's Trust, following her work
experience at The Trust's Head Office in Park Square East. The show
is getting bigger and better year on year. Katie Rowlands beat very
stiff competition to sing the best song this year.
