Public sector
This year, our Public Sector Funding team
succeeded in raising over £15.9million from government, lottery and
other statutory sources.
Our aim is to maximise our ability to secure public sector
income across the UK, and to sustain current levels of public
sector funding over the next three years.
We also promote the need for The Prince's Trust to work in
partnership with other voluntary organisations.
Positive stories
Examples of how the Public Sector has contributed to the work of
The Prince's Trust:

Matt Campbell, 22, from Plymouth, recounts the dramatic events in his life and explains how The Prince's Trust gave him direction in finding a job.

Harmless supports people who self-harm and those who are trying to help them, by providing information and support that they can really relate to.

Young people gaining vocational skills whilst learning
about their heritage on the Get Into the Past project. The
project is delivered in partnership with The National Trust
and funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
Matrix Standard
In July 2009 The Prince’s Trust achieved UK wide
matrix Standard accreditation. The Matrix Standard is a well
recognised external quality mark that assesses the information,
advice and guidance we provide to young people. The process
involved interviewing a mix of staff, volunteers and young
people.
It was gained in a very convincing manner, reaffirming the good
quality of the Trust’s work and supporting future fundraising
efforts. The Assessor’s comments included being struck by ‘the
desire and enthusiasm to provide young people with a service
tailored to the individual’s needs..the strong operational
relationships with delivery partners..communication between and
with staff are developing positively’. It has also helped The
Trust identify opportunities for improvement.
