Delivering solutions for young people and
their communities
Across the UK, The Prince’s Trust works
closely with national and local government, statutory agencies and
lottery partners to deliver effective solutions for young people
and their communities.
As the UK’s leading youth charity we have
extensive experience of working with disadvantaged and vulnerable
young people. We deliver a range of programmes, which can be
tailored to meet local need, and are proven at securing sustainable
outcomes. Our work helps to:
- Get young people in
work, education and training
- Increase educational
achievement and prevent school exclusion
- Promote and sustain
new enterprise
- Build stronger,
successful communities
- Tackle anti-social
behaviour and youth crime
- Improve young people’s
health and wellbeing
Last year we worked with nearly 70 Local Authorities, across 7
central government departments, with 3 European agencies, alongside
all the devolved administrations, and with a variety of other
statutory and lottery partners to deliver nearly £13m of services
to change the lives of disadvantaged young people.
In a tight funding environment, The Prince’s
Trust is committed to providing value for money – where possible we
look to bring match funding and in-kind support to programme
delivery, whilst still ensuring the best possible
outcomes.

Matrix Standard
In July 2009 The Prince’s Trust achieved UK wide matrix Standard
accreditation. The Matrix Standard is a well recognised external
quality mark that assesses the information, advice and guidance we
provide to young people. The process involved interviewing a mix of
staff, volunteers and young people.
It was gained in a very convincing manner, reaffirming the good
quality of the Trust’s work and supporting future fundraising
efforts. The Assessor’s comments included being struck by "the
desire and enthusiasm to provide young people with a service
tailored to the individual’s needs, the strong operational
relationships with delivery partners, positive communication
between and with staff”. It has also helped The
Trust identify opportunities for improvement.
