Development Award Assessor
Are you passionate, confident and supportive
with great communication skills and some time to spare?
This is a great opportunity for someone within or near to
Milton Keynes, with an interest in gaining experience working with
young people in The Trust’s target groups. This role will provide
you with hands-on experience to give one-to-one support and cash
awards to young people, to enhance their employability and life
skills.
Volunteers with the Development Awards team need to have the
commitment and skills to support young people overcoming
considerable disadvantages. They need to be non-judgemental,
approachable, great listeners and above all enthusiastic about the
potential of young people.
Young people involved in our Development Award programme can
apply for a grant of £50 to £500 to help them get into education,
training or employment. Each applicant meets with an Awards
Assessor before their application is recommended for funding.
Meetings will involve discussion and recording of the support they
may require and the goals they’re aiming for.
Initial training will be provided and there may also be ongoing
opportunities. This role is ideal for someone with an interest in
gaining experience with young people in The Trust’s target groups
or with time to spare to make a difference.
Minimum commitment of 1 session (3-4 hours) fortnightly for 3
months. Time could be split between the office and meetings around
London. Due to the current needs of the Programme this opportunity
is offered initially as a 3 month position with a possibility of it
becoming longer term.
To apply for this position please download the following
documents and follow the instructions included.
